Valentino - Biography
Born in Melbourne Australia, flamenco guitar virtuoso Valentino has been playing the guitar since the age of 3 and has been performing professionally since the age of 16. Coming from a musical family, his first teacher was his father, teaching him many styles of music and the importance of versatility on the guitar. He also studied classical guitar as a teenager but Valentino's heart was always in flamenco therefore decided to pursue his childhood dream of being a first class flamenco guitarist which he has achieved.
His passion for flamenco and the guitar led him to the holy grail Spain, where he lived and studied the art under one of the most renowned flamenco guitarists, Carlos Heredia,
Valentino has embedded himself in the flamenco genre proving his virtuosity in his playing, compositions and arrangements as well as his very high level of accompaniment to flamenco song and dance.
His versatility on the guitar is proven in his influences outside of the flamenco genre including Balkan, Gipsy, Latin, and Jazz and has been a leader in combining the different genres and performing with an array of different styles of musicians and artists.
Releasing 2 albums “Alma y Aire” and “Por Unos Ojitos Negros”, Valentino has shown his high standards in arranging, composition and producing his own work. He also leads his own flamenco ensemble which is an array of musicians and dancers performing to the highest standards showing his love of the “live” performance. He has also made his musical mark performing both in Europe and Australia with various flamenco musicians, dancers and singers as well as artists of various genres.
Valentino’s playing is true art and his dynamic sounds combined with his technical expertise and exuberance is truly amazing as well as special and will leave any music lover feeling excited and stimulated.
